Food in Joeys.

In order to celebrate my mom’s eternal youth, we did the risky (because going to Joburg at night is what my folks did in the old days.  They are not yet aware that Joburg is no longer on the decline and is, in fact experiencing intense urban renewal.)

Our place of pallatable perfection was Sai Thai, Shop 1, Cyrildene Shopping Centre.

The restaurant is framed by China Town where merchants are able to leave their covered goods in the street until they are for sale again in the morning.

Don’t you love that barber’s pole?  Fascinating.

The food was lovely, we ate far too much in order to try as many dishes as possible.

The decor is particularly inspiring.  I loved this piece that was on one of the walls.

What a beautifully rich experience.  Viva Joburg!
